Job description

The Onyx Research Data Tech organization is a part of GSK that deals with Research data. It is able to bring lots of data analyze it and help people explore it. We work with scientists at GSK to figure out what problems they are having and then come up with solutions that're just right for them. Our goal is to make sure scientists have the data and information they need when they need it so they can start their work on the foot and make new medical discoveries faster. This helps us understand diseases better and find ways to stop them before they even start. The Onyx Research Data Tech organization is really important, for this. It helps GSK scientists do their jobs better and make discoveries that can help people.

Onyx is a company that does a lot of things. They have people who lead the products and the portfolio. They also have teams that work on data engineering, infrastructure and DevOps. Onyx has platforms for data, metadata and knowledge. They have platforms for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and analysis too. All of these things, at Onyx are working toward the same goal. Onyx is really focused on making all of these areas work well with each other.

Building a next-generation, metadata- and automation-driven data experience for GSK’s scientists, engineers, and decision-makers, increasing productivity and reducing time spent on “data mechanics”

Providing best-in-class AI/ML and data analysis environments to accelerate our predictive capabilities and attract top-tier talent

Aggressively engineering our data at scale, as one unified asset, to unlock the value of our unique collection of data and predictions inreal-time

The program of work needs to be watched to make sure everything goes as planned. The Onyx Tech Delivery & Assurance team is in charge of making sure we have internal processes for planning and delivering projects quickly. They do this across all of the Onyx Tech projects.

The Onyx Tech Delivery & Assurance team makes sure that the people in charge of Onyx and our important partners can see what is going on with our work. The Onyx Tech Delivery & Assurance team helps them understand how things are progressing. If there are any problems or things that are not going as planned the Onyx Tech Delivery & Assurance team lets everyone know away. This way we can fix these issues before they become problems. The Onyx Tech Delivery & Assurance team and the program of work are very important, to us. They work with our product and engineering leaders to make sure the way we do things, like delivering software is the best it can be and helps our company succeed. They team up with our product and engineering leadership to make our software delivery and other work processes really good. This way our company is set up to do well.

The Senior Program Manager is responsible, for helping Onyx Application Engineering with managing programs and projects. They have to make sure everything is done properly and in a way. This includes keeping records tracking resources and planning for the future to ensure that programs and projects are completed successfully. The Senior Program Manager works with Product Managers to come up with plans that're realistic and can actually be done. These plans outline the tasks that need to be completed to deliver Onyx products to engineering teams. The goal is to deliver high quality Onyx products. A Senior Program Manager is someone who takes a problem that's not very clear and has a lot of uncertainty and then they figure out what the problem really is. They make a plan to solve the problem. Then they do a great job of making it happen. The Senior Program Manager has to be good, at taking something that's not well defined and making it clear so they can work on it and get good results. The Senior Program Manager is expected to do all of this at a high level.

This job will be in charge of projects that have many parts. These projects will involve working with the engineering team the data team, the cloud team and people from outside the company. The person in this role will have to manage all of these groups and make sure they are all working together smoothly. This role will lead large-scale programs that include dependencies, across the engineering team the data team, the cloud team and external partners.

To do well in this job you need to have used Atlassian tools like Jira, Confluence and Advanced Roadmaps. You should know how to set them up control how they are used and get the most out of them. This includes using features and add-ons to help teams work in an agile way keep track of things and make reports.

The person we are looking for is someone who really wants to get projects done on time but not at the cost of doing work. They need to be able to put in place rules and ways of working that make sure projects are done safely can be repeated and can be checked to make sure everything was done correctly. Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence are important, for this.

These are the Responsibilities-

Create and manage overall program governance and delivery model for complex technical initiatives, including program level milestones, success criteria, decision rights, and the running of program boards and steering committees.
Act as the primary escalation point for cross functional delivery issues; coordinate rapid remediation plans, conduct root cause analysis for major incidents or delivery failures, and drive corrective actions to closure.

This plan will help me manage the project and the program. I have to make sure the project is done on time and within the budget. The customer may want some changes or the business may have some rules. I am, in charge of making sure this happens for the project and the program.

Lead large scale, multi-track programs with cross functional dependencies and external partners.

Lead Shiprooms and agile sprint ceremonies, project tracking/reporting and backlog management with product managers. Provide a single view of each project within the portfolio and their interdependencies, establishing effective OKRs, robust documentation and project value/financial tracking.

I will work with the Onyx engineering leads the Quality team and the product managers at Onyx to check if the technical designs are good and to make sure the ways we deliver things are scalable secure and will not cost much. We need to make sure these things are in line with the Onyx platform and the standards for architecture at Onyx. This is important, for Onyx.

Implement and govern program level project management discipline (tools and process) across product deliverables. Provide hands on leadership in designing, configuring and maintaining Atlassian based delivery processes including board and workflow design, issue type schemes, custom fields, permissions, automation rules, release pipelines, Advanced Roadmaps/Portfolio configuration, and dashboarding to ensure consistent practices, traceability and high-quality reporting across teams.

We will use Atlassian and special reporting tools that have Artificial Intelligence to help us make reports. These tools include models that can think for themselves. We will make sure these tools work well with Onyx Jira and Confluence settings and the plugins and automation that we use. We will also help set up rules and make sure everything works together by connecting Atlassian tools with reporting and Business Intelligence systems. This way we can have one place where we can find all the information we need which is called a source of truth and it will be very helpful, for Atlassian and Onyx Jira and Confluence.

Manage third party and vendor engagements for program components: define statements of work (SOWs), review vendor delivery

This includes things like how we deliver how predictable we are how long it takes to get things done how quickly we fix problems how much our scope changes and how well we are doing on our objectives and key results. We have to show these things to the leadership on a basis. Then we have to use the data to come up with ideas, on how to make our delivery. The programs delivery cadence and predictability are very important. We also have to look at the cycle time and mean time to recover which's what we call MTTR. The scope variance and OKR progress are also things to track for the program.

I also have to run checks to make sure we are really ready for a release. Sometimes things do not go as planned and we have to go to how things were before so I have to plan for that too. I do this by making a plan in case something goes wrong with the new release. The new release has to work for all the teams and, in all the environments so my job is to make sure that happens.

We need to keep making our delivery practices better. To do this we should have meetings to look back at what we did called retrospectives. Then we should use what we learned to make our processes and templates better. We should also make sure that the teams are actually using these improved processes and templates and that they are working well with the tools and templates we use from Atlassian. This way our delivery practices will keep getting better and better over time. We will be able to deliver things more efficiently.

The mentor and coach program is really important. It has delivery leads. We need to build the delivery capability. To do this we have to define roles and responsibilities for the mentor and coach program. We also have to create career development pathways for the mentor and coach program.

The mentor and coach program will have enablement sessions. These sessions will be about program practices for the mentor and coach program. They will also be about dependency and risk management for the mentor and coach program. Additionally the sessions will cover Atlassian tooling usage, for the mentor and coach program.
