The IAM Experiences team, part of Microsoft’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) organization, builds the platform that powers Microsoft Entra’s end-user experiences—including My Account, Devices, Groups, Sign-ins, Access, Staff and Apps. Our mission is to deliver seamless, secure, consistent and intelligent identity experiences across web and mobile platforms for every Entra user. We own and operate both horizontal capabilities and vertical experiences that serve as the primary touchpoints for identity management, authentication insights, and access governance. Our team leads frontend engineering for end-user identity scenarios, driving innovation in usability, accessibility, and performance. As part of Microsoft’s AI-first transformation, we are integrating Copilot capabilities into end-user workflows—enabling personalized guidance, proactive security insights, and streamlined access requests through conversational interfaces. Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Technical skills: 3+ years of Proficient in various languages, especially web-based technologies like JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and C#.
Strong hands-on skills in these areas. Data-driven approach: Skilled in analyzing and solving problems using query languages and tools such as Kusto.
Backend technologies: Proficient in backend technologies and cloud-based architectures to build large-scale distributed systems and AI/ML experience: Experience in AI/ML is a plus
2+ years of experience designing, developing, or maintaining secure software systems, with applied knowledge of authentication, data protection, access control, and secure coding practices

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
